It’s New Years Day. It’s our 7th wedding anniversary. It’s also Day 1 of this new chapter of our lives called 2026.
Social media is filled with challenges—make this your best year ever, or accomplish your dreams, or tackle that overdue task list. And I certainly have tasks that need completing and dreams I’d like to see come true. But the thing I want to focus on most is being more present, being more aware in my daily life.
In an effort to do that, I plan to spend time in reflection. Weekly, I will give thought to the highs and lows of the previous week. I want to identify the zenith and the nadir of each week. I’m challenging myself to journal my thoughts about them, the why behind the label.
My hope is that as time goes on, I can identify patterns that will allow me to take conscious actions toward more zeniths and fewer nadirs.
This will be a personal process, as I work through family illnesses and professional projects that I’m not comfortable sharing yet. But there will surely be some weeks where the highs and lows are fit for sharing, and I’ll do so as I feel led.
I hope 2026 is gentle with you. And may your zeniths far outnumber your nadirs.

Happy Anniversary to two of the kindest people I know. Goals sister, a worthy goal you have set. I pray to do a little more purposeful living myself. I hope this new year is kind to you both, and peace and joy follow you everywhere you go.
